Why Do Birds Strike Glass?

Birds simply cannot see glass. The reflective, transparent nature of uncoated glass makes it virtually imperceptible to birds. What they see is one of two things: a reflection of the open air behind them, or a clear sight line to what's on the other side.

How Can Strikes Be Prevented?

The best way to prevent bird strikes is to make glass surfaces visible. We know that birds will not fly through spaces that are smaller than their body width.
